By Air: Bangalore Intl Airport at 160 km is the nearest major airport to Mysore. Mysore has its own airport but no flights are operating the moment.
By Rail: Mysore is well connected by express and super fast trains like Shatabdi with major cities in India.
By Road: Mysore is also well connected by road from Bangalore and other cities. Bangalore is 140 km and takes about 2.5 hrs by road. Frequent Air conditioned buses are operated by KSRTC between Mysore and Bangalore.
Climate and best time to visit Mysore: Mysore can be visited through out the year. The best season is from October till March and particularly during Dasara (Dussehra) festivities. Climate in Mysore is pleasant in general except in monsoons. April is the hottest month with the daily temperatures varying between 20°C and 36°C while December is the coldest month with the temperatures from 14°C to 27°C.
